How to Involve New Members
(Dates: Various throughout 2008)
Here you will learn to think differently about the role of tenants groups through the application of business models to appreciate how new perspectives might provide insights into encouraging greater tenant involvement.
The session will be delivered through exercises and activities to stimulate discussion on involving more tenants and making more people aware of the role of your group.
Publicity & Producing Newsletters
(Dates: To Be Arranged Throughout 2008)
This course will cover:
- Choosing the right medium - Newsletter, leaflet, poster? Which is right for your task?
- Newsletters - Writing headlines that command attention
- How to bring your stories to life so people stay interested – and are motivated
- How to engage and involve your readers
- Type styles and layouts
- How the right pictures and captions work for you
- How and why contests and prize draws work
- Leaflets - Design consideration – size, shape, amount of text, typefaces
- How to encourage people to respond
- Posters - The ideal poster – a checklist for success
- Visibility – how to make your poster stand out on a crowded notice board
- Different types of poster sites and how that affects your design
Being Involved in Running A Group
(Dates: Various throughout 2008)
This course will help you look at:

Only by asking questions like this at least helps you identify what your problems and successes are - then you can start to improve.
