Abandoned Properties

Sometimes tenants leave their properties without telling us they are going.  This means that we can have an empty property that we are unaware of that we could let to someone on our waiting list that needs a home to live in.  Such properties can attract vandalism or squatters.

Very often neighbours are the first to know and call us so we can investigate.

If the tenant is not there, we can take action to regain possession of the property and let it to someone else.  We will investigate all reports of abandonment within one working day of receiving the information.

You can report any property you suspect of being abandoned to
Wolverhampton Homes by telephoning (01902) 556789, or contact your Housing Office.
