Estate Evaluations

Do you want to help Wolverhampton Homes make your estate a great place to live?

Come and join an estate evaluation and help to improve the appearance of your area

The aim of an estate evaluation is for Wolverhampton Homes and residents to work together to improve the area where you live. Suggestions on how to improve an area (for example security lighting, car parking or gating) can be made by participants.

Every three months we will walk round your area with residents and other interested parties such as the local Councillors Wolverhampton City Council, Neighbourhood Wardens and the Police to identify any issues that affect the appearance of your estate such as:

• Untidy gardens
• Abandoned vehicles
• Litter
• Vandalism

The area will be scored and rated based on the number and type of issues identified. We will devise an action plan to address the issues.

Why should I get involved?

By taking part you will have the opportunity to give your opinions and ideas on how to make your neighbourhood a better place to live. You will be able to see the improvements talking place as a result of your involvement.

How do I get involved?

If you want to take part in an Estate Evaluation or find out more please contact Wolverhampton Homes on 01902 556789 or visit  your Housing Office

Feedback

All participants of the evaluation will receive a copy of the action plan and information on the score/rating. This information will also sent to local Tenants and Residents Groups in the area.  See index below to find out the rating of your estate

How the rating for your area is worked out

After the Estate Evaluation the area will be scored based on the number of issues we discover. We consider litter, graffiti, vandalism (this includes abandoned vehicles), hard landscape (such things as fences, walls and paving), soft landscape (such things as trees, grass, shrubs in communal areas), breaches of tenancy agreements and dirt/pollution.

This score will then be turned into a rating:

A: The area is in an excellent condition with very few issues
B: The area is in a good condition with a limited number of issues
C: The area is in an average condition with numerous issues outstanding
D: The area is in a below average condition with a large number of issues discovered in the evaluation
