Squatters and Unauthorised Occupants

Sometimes people move into a property but they should not be living there.  They may see an empty property and move in.  This is called ’illegal occupation’ or sometimes ’squatting’.

It is also possible that the tenant has moved out and is sub-letting the property to someone else.  This is a property that we could re-let to someone who is waiting for a home.

We will investigate any instances of illegal occupation providing the necessary advice and assistance and  also commence prompt legal action to remove any illegal occupiers or squatters from our properties.

You can help by reporting any instances to Wolverhampton Homes by telephoning (01902) 556789 or contact your Housing Office

Any information that you provide will be treated confidentially.
