Rent Campaigns

Wolverhampton Homes uses a variety of methods to collect rent and help those in debt including advertising on our website, on buses, on Wolverhampton Homes vans, producing posters and leaflets, direct mail-shots and press articles.

We also work with other agencies during these campaigns, these have included The Pension Service, Citizens Advice and Housing Benefits.

Tenants are urged to put their rent first at Christmas time. The annual ‘Rent First’ campaign highlights the need to keep up with rent payments and offers support to tenants.

Every tenant in debt is contacted and reminded to continue making payments over the Christmas period. Tenants receive information in a variety of languages and in a ‘Rent First’ leaflet which tells them where they can get help with paying rent and advice on benefit and debt.

Tenants are also reminded to continue their payments during the rent free week over Christmas, so that any amount received will be deducted in full from any debt they have. This offers a real opportunity to clear or significantly reduce any debt.

Eye catching posters, leaflets and adverts are produced and the campaign draws tenants’ attention to a rents Helpline which is available on freephone 0800 408 0440.

Free Prize Draws

You could be entered into our FREE PRIZE DRAWS worth up to £3,000. It’s simple -

• Keep your rent account fully paid and up to date, we will
enter you into our quarterly FREE PRIZE DRAW, worth up
to £150!
• Pay by monthly Direct Debit and keep a clear rent account you will
also be entered into a monthly FREE PRIZE DRAW, worth
up to £150! Lucky winners will be able to choose from either:
o £150 paid into a Wolverhampton City Credit Union
account, set up in your name or
o home contents insurance for a year to the value of £150
(approximately £20,000 sum assured) or
o £75 cash prize (in vouchers)

• At the end of March each year we will hold a SUPER DRAW!
The lucky winner will win either:

account, set up in your name or
o £300 cash prize (in vouchers)

Eligible customers will be entered into the draw at the end of
each period. Winners will be drawn at random by an impartial
selector.
