Housing surveys
It may be necessary on occasions for the Council or contractors acting on their behalf to enter your property to carry out inspections or surveys.
This could be for various reasons including any of the following:
- Pre inspections prior to repairs being carried out
- Post inspections to assess work quality / satisfaction
- Specialist surveys to identify asbestos, structural etc
- Stock condition surveys to enable the council to keep accurate records regarding its stock
Where large scale detailed surveys are required attempts will be made to arrange an appointment, however this may not always be possible.
You are reminded that under the terms and conditions of your tenancy, you are obliged to allow access to your property by representatives of the council provided they give you reasonable notice. This is in accordance with Section 54 of the Housing Act 1985.
