Estate Inspections
Do you want to help make your estate a great place to live?
Join an estate inspection and help improve the appearance of your area!

The aim of an estate inspection (or evaluation) is for you to work with us to improve your neighbourhood. Suggestions (e.g. security lighting, car parking or
gating) can be made by participants.
Every three months, we will walk around your area with residents and other interested parties – e.g. local councillors, Wolverhampton City Council representatives,
Neighbourhood Wardens and the Police - to identify any issues that affect the estate’s appearance.
These might include:
- Untidy gardens
- Abandoned vehicles
- Litter
- Vandalism
The area will be scored and rated, based on the number and type of issues identified. We will then devise an action plan to address
them.
Why should I get involved?
By taking part, you will have the opportunity to give your opinions and ideas on how to make your neighbourhood a better place to live. You will also be able to see the
improvements taking place as a result of your involvement.
How do I get involved?
If you want to take part in an estate inspection, or find out more, please contact Homes Direct on 01902 556789, or visit your One Stop Shop.
Feedback
Everyone taking part will receive a copy of the action plan and information on the score/rating. These details will also be sent to local tenants and residents groups in the area.
See the index below to find out your estate’s rating.
How the rating for your area is worked out
Scores are based on the number of issues revealed.
We consider:
- Litter
- Graffiti
- Vandalism (this includes abandoned vehicles)
- The condition of hard landscape (e.g. fences, walls and paving)
- The condition of soft landscape (e.g. trees, grass, shrubs in communal areas)
- Breaches of tenancy agreements
- Dirt/pollution.
The score will then be turned into a rating:
A: The area is in an excellent condition, with very few issues
B: The area is in a good condition, with a limited number of issues
C: The area is in an average condition, with numerous issues outstanding
D: The area is in a below average condition, with a large number of issues discovered in the evaluation.
