Aids and Adaptations Services
Our Aids and Adaptations Services team can help older or disabled tenants remain independent at home for as long as possible.
How we can help
We can make your home easier to live in by:
- fitting suitable adaptations in your home – for example, stair lifts, ramps, handrails, steps or showering facilities
- answering any queries you may have about existing adaptations to your home or those due to be fitted
We consult with you before the work is done, support you as it is done and provide aftercare when the work has finished.
How to Apply
The first thing you’ll need is an assessment from Wolverhampton City Council Independent Living Services.
You can arrange this by contacting the Social Services Duty Team, on 01902 553666.
They will need to know your details to assess what kind of help you need. If it is an aid of any type - for instance, a shower seat - Independent Living Services equipment department will be able to provide you with what you need. If you require an adaptation to your property, then the occupational therapy service will also assess you in your home.
Once they have completed their assessment and recommended a home adaptation, the details are forwarded to our Homes Adaptation team, who will arrange for the work to be done.
