Giving to charity and pledging support to charitable causes is nothing new for our tenants, but Paul Ryder from Deans Road went one step further.
On 22nd September, Paul, who in spite of his fear of heights, abseiled down the Holiday Inn Express in Birmingham, in a bid to raise money for Caudwell Children, a national charity that provides respite care for children with severe disabilities. Paul raised nearly £140 within the first few weeks and the money is still coming in.
It's important to me to give something back, not just to my community, but to the wider community of Wolverhampton and beyond. Too many of us complain that not enough is being done to support local people. Instead of demanding change, become the change. That's why I pledged my support to Caudwell Children.
As well as abseiling down the Holiday Inn Express, Paul has given up his time to collect money for Caudwell Children. Paul and his partner also do a lot of work in their local community. Paul recently petitioned for and successfully secured a road traffic survey on a road where they live.
