Tenants of City of Wolverhampton Council have received their annual rent review letters this week, detailing any changes to their rent.

The letters breakdown what tenants need to pay, whether they pay weekly or monthly. This financial year (April 2019 to March 2020) there are 53 weeks in the year instead of the usual 52. This is a natural phenomenon that happens every seven years.

If you’re a tenant and have received your letter, your monthly rent charge might not look quite right – rest assured, this is just because rent is charged over 53 weeks this year. To work out your monthly rent charge, we have multiplied your weekly rent charge by 53 weeks and have divided it by 12 months. Your rent review letter is correct.

Whether you pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly, you need to pay your rent in advance. The amount you need to pay is detailed in your letter.

There are contact details on the letter if you have any questions. Alternatively, you can contact us 24/7, 365 days a year through webchat – we are always happy to help.
