In June 2018, we interviewed Donna, one of our call centre customer service advisors who also happens to be a tenant. She joined Wolverhampton Homes through our award-winning LEAP programme.
It's been nearly 12 months since we caught up with Donna, so we thought it's about time we met with her again to check how she's getting on and to ask whether she would still recommend Wolverhampton Homes' training and employment programmes.
I am getting on really well. I genuinely love coming into work every day - how many people can say that? I work with a fantastic team here in Homes Direct who help and encourage me on a daily basis. We also have amazing team leaders and a manager who are all really supportive.
Since the last feature, I have learnt a lot. There's too much to mention it all, but to name a few: I've learnt how to deal with housing options calls, so I can better support those people who are homeless or who are at risk of homelessness; I've had suicide awareness training; I've been getting to grips with our new repairs system and the new, recently launched self-serve system, called My Account. I have also learnt the rent process and as a tenant myself it has been really interesting seeing the other side and how important #RentFirst really is.
