The Home Office has re-launched its Fire Kills campaign, a nation-wide initiative that supports Government’s on-going commitment to help prevent fatalities and injuries from accidental fires.
During February and March 2020, you may see a TV advert supported by radio, video and digital platforms which highlights known fire risks including candles and leaving cooking unattended, demonstrating that it only takes one accident to start a fire. The campaign is based on audience research and partner feedback, and has been designed in collaboration with the National Fire Chiefs Council and Fire and Rescue Services.
At Wolverhampton Homes, the safety and wellbeing of residents is our very highest priority. We'll therefore be sharing lots of information on our social media pages to help raise awareness and give residents some top tips on staying safe in their homes.
Research has shown that elderly and vulnerable residents are most at risk of fire, so please help spread the word and if you have an elderly or vulnerable family member, friend or neighbour, please do check up on them from time to time, and make sure they're aware of the risks of fire.
