What you need to do
If you’re not already registered - make sure you register for Homes In The City – that’s the only way to make a bid for a property. Find out how on our Find a Home page.
Can you afford it?
Taking on your own home can be expensive. Before you start bidding – make sure you can afford to pay the rent – and the other things like utility bills, council tax and the TV licence.
Check out our cost of running a home web page – it’s a great place to start when it comes to looking at how you can afford a home.
Rents
The new homes are classed as having ‘affordable rents’ – that’s about 80% of what the rent would be in the private market.
This table gives you an idea about what the weekly rents are for these types of properties.
