People in Wolverhampton are being encouraged to give local children the best possible start in life – by becoming foster carers.

Monday 1 June marks the start of Foster Care Fortnight 2015, the UK’s biggest foster carer recruitment campaign, and members of the Fostering for Wolverhampton Team from the the city council will be out over the next two weeks offering advice and guidance to individuals and couples who are interested in becoming foster carers.

There are currently dozens of youngsters in Wolverhampton waiting for a foster home and the Fostering for Wolverhampton Team would like to hear from people who want to find out more about this vital role. Foster carers can be single, married or in a relationship and they won't be on their own as help and support is available 24 hours a day. Placements can be anything from a few days to a number of years, and they receive a regular, tax exempt allowance to cover the cost of bringing up the child.
