International Women's Day is celebrated every year on 8 March and Women of Wolverhampton have arranged a week of events to celebrate.

  • A new International Women’s Day Flag for Wolverhampton will be launched at the Civic Centre on 7th March. The handmade flag was created by the voluntary sector organisation Women of Wolverhampton (WOW) and local textile artist Sue Chand. As well as the flag, individual pennants were also created which will be displayed as bunting at Newhampton Arts Centre from Sunday (6 March 2016) to Saturday 12 March 2016
  • International Women’s Day Celebrationhosted by the Inspirational Ladies Group, at Low Hill Community Centre, WV10 9JJ from 11am to 3pm on Tuesday 8th March with health activities, arts and crafts, refreshments and lots more.
  • Women’s Get Together at Newhampton Arts Centre (Room G1) from 10am to 1pm on Thursday 10th March, with glass painting, information and refreshments.
  • Women’s Comedy Cabaret at 7.30pm on Friday 11th March at Newhampton Arts Centre, theatre headliner, Mrs Barbara Nice with new local female talent. Men and women welcome – suitable for anyone over 12 years old. Find out more on the WOW website.
