Thursday 8th March was International Women's Day and to mark the occasion, members of the public are invited to an event which will see female councillors discuss their life in politics.
The event, entitled ‘Being a Female Councillor’ will celebrate 100 years since women won the right to vote and has been organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council's Staff Equality Event Group.
Three City of Wolverhampton councillors will be taking part where they will discuss how they got involved in politics, what being a female councillor is like, the work they are involved in and how woman can make a difference in civic life.
The event, which is open to everyone, will take place on Tuesday 13th March, from 2pm to 4pm in the training room on the ground floor of the civic centre.
If you are interested in attending this event please contact Delva Campbell, Equalities Officer on 01902 554081 or email her at
