Believing in accessibility for all

The garden competition is open for entries!

The competition is open to all tenants and leaseholders, and schools in Wolverhampton. Each category will have a first prize of £75! There will also be prizes for second and third place.

The categories are:

  • Best garden - does your garden have the ‘wow’ factor? Judges will be looking for a variety of plants in different colours and shapes, and ornaments used to good effect.
  • Best patio garden - we want to see the best use of space, and a good variety of plants or flowers in the space available.
  • Best hanging baskets - these should be really colourful, with lots of different plants, not forgetting some greenery.
  • Best communal garden - do you have a garden that’s shared and used by neighbours at your scheme or on your estate? We would love to see how the garden benefits you and your neighbourhood.
  • Best natural or wildlife garden - Is your garden helping the environment in some way?  It could be particularly bee or butterfly-friendly, good for all pollinators, or perhaps you have a wormery?
  • Best Jubilee garden – celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a special display fit for the queen!

School gardens

Does your Wolverhampton school have a garden tended by the pupils? If so, you can enter one of our school categories:

  • Best school garden
  • Best Jubilee display
  • Tallest sunflower

Children's category

  • Tallest sunflower – a special category for our younger customers! This is open to anyone aged 12 and under. Seeds, pots and compost can be provided if required.
