Please note:

  • Garage tenancies are allocated in date order to applicants living in Wolverhampton.
  • A garage tenancy will only be offered to a council tenant if their account and tenancy are maintained satisfactorily.
  • All garage tenants are required to pay the rent by Direct Debit, one month in advance.
  • An occupier of privately owned property can only be granted a garage tenancy if there is no council tenant / leaseholder willing to take the tenancy
  • If a tenant or leaseholder rents a garage outside the ‘reasonable proximity rule’, VAT is chargeable.
    ‘Reasonable proximity’ – dwelling and garages being on the same estate and within easy walking distance.
  • If a tenant or leaseholder rents more than two garages, VAT is payable.
