Advice for contractors
If you have been asked to carry out any work in the communal areas of high, medium or low rise blocks of flats manged by Wolverhampton Homes, please read this information before you start any work.
Our blocks have rising service ducts containing water, gas, electrical, soil and vent pipes, CCTV, data, telephone and television services.
You must make sure your work does not interfere with or weaken the fire stopping measures carried out in these blocks and you will be responsible for ensuring the required level of fire protection is retained following completion of any work.
Service providers and contractors cutting or drilling new holes through walls and floors or using existing holes to provide services to customers, must ensure that:
- Wolverhampton Homes are made aware of the works to be undertaken and the location of where the work is planned.
- On completion of work the required level of fire protection is maintained before leaving site.
