Council homes are in high demand and there aren’t enough homes for everyone who would like one. That’s why it is important to consider all your options, including housing associations and private landlords. Many of them charge low rents and also have homes in other areas, giving you more choice.
If you’re already a council tenant, you may be able to swap your home with another tenant via a mutual exchange.

If you think you’re ready to buy, there are low cost home ownership schemes that could help you to buy a home that’s right for you.
If you have a question or enquiry about an existing housing application you will find lots of information to help on the Homes in the City website.
