Wolverhampton Homes is proud to support Gas Safety Week 2026, a national campaign that runs every September.
This year’s theme is Take No Chances – a simple but important reminder that if something does not feel right, it should not be ignored.
It is also timely to stress how important it is to:
- Make sure your annual gas safety check is completed on time by our contractor, Dodd Group
- Stay alert to the signs of carbon monoxide (CO)
- Follow gas safety guidance
Taking the right action can help protect people from serious risks including gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Carbon monoxide is often called the ‘silent killer’ because it cannot be seen, smelt or tasted.
Throughout the week, we will be sharing key messages on our social media channels to help you stay safe and informed.
Why gas safety matters
Gas appliances that are not properly maintained can be dangerous. They may cause gas leaks, fires, explosions, or carbon monoxide poisoning.
By taking simple steps, you can:
- Protect yourself, your household, and your neighbours
- Minimise the risk of disruptions caused by faulty appliances
- Potentially save money in the long run through regular servicing
