University of Wolverhampton awards Honorary Fellowship to Shaun Aldis

Shaun Honorary Fellowship 1

Wolverhampton Homes Chief Executive, Shaun Aldis, has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship for services to housing, in recognition of his career spanning more than 30 years. Honorary awards are presented by the university to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community in their field of expertise.

Born in Wolverhampton, Shaun has previously studied at the university, achieving degrees in both Business Management and Housing, and has held operational and senior management positions across both housing and asset management during his lengthy career in the social housing sector. During the last 16 years with Wolverhampton Homes, where he is now Chief Executive, his knowledge and experience have been instrumental in driving a number of initiatives including the management of the Decent Homes programme, the award-winning Heath Town regeneration programme and achievement of the Stonewall Bronze Employer award for LGBT+ inclusivity.

Shaun said:

“I’m so honoured to receive this award from the University of Wolverhampton. It was fantastic to be able to attend the university today and congratulate all of the students who were receiving their own degrees after several years of hard work. I hope that at least some of them will consider a career in social housing, and if they do, that it’s as rewarding as mine has been.

“This week the university has been commended for its positive impact on social mobility and to me, that’s what a university should be – a great leveller - where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

"And at Wolverhampton Homes we share the same vision – we aim to help people get on in life, by providing great homes in safe and well-managed neighbourhoods, with training and employment opportunities close to home. Many colleagues have studied at the University of Wolverhampton and I look forward to seeing some of this year’s graduates coming through in interviews over the coming years and joining us in making a difference in the city."
