Staying safe this Halloween and Bonfire Night

Adobestock 286908355

In the run-up to Halloween and Bonfire Night, please remember to look out for one another and help keep our communities safe.

Look out for your neighbours

This time of year can be unsettling for some people – especially elderly or vulnerable neighbours. Please take a moment to check in on those nearby and be mindful of whose doors you knock when trick-or-treating.

If you know someone who would prefer not to have visitors, please share our ‘No trick or treaters’ poster with them.

Trick-or-treat safely

If your children are heading out to enjoy Halloween, please remind them to stay safe by:

  • Sticking together with friends
  • Staying in areas they know
  • Only visiting houses of people they know

Report fly-tipping

Fly-tipped waste is a common cause of deliberate fires during the bonfire season. If you spot fly-tipping, please report it so it can be removed quickly.

Celebrate Bonfire Night safely

As Bonfire Night approaches, please celebrate responsibly.

Letting off fireworks in public places is an offence and can cause serious injuries or distress to others. To stay safe and enjoy the celebrations, we encourage you to attend one of the organised public firework displays taking place across Wolverhampton.
