We are thrilled to have picked up another award, this time with our strategic construction partner United Living for our transformative work in Heath Town.
The Regeneration & Conservation Award in the Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards 2025 showcases projects and people who are setting new standards and delivering meaningful change.
Celebrating the very best in innovation, collaboration, sustainability and community impact, the award recognised the substantial impact the Heath Town regeneration project has achieved and putting customers at the heart of the project.
Since 2017, United Living, on behalf of Wolverhampton Homes, which is the largest managing agent for the City of Wolverhampton Council, has been undertaking the large-scale improvements to help regenerate the area. This includes an estate-wide infrastructure improvement programme; internal and external refurbishment of existing housing; thermal cladding; new play areas; fire safety works; and energy efficiency improvements.
Ian Gardner, Director of Property Services, said: “We are incredibly proud of our regeneration work at Heath Town and the judges recognised it as an example of best practice.
“Heath Town is an excellent example of how estate regeneration should be done because residents are playing an active role in shaping the future of their neighbourhood, creating a safer, healthier community where people want to live.
“As we come into the final two years of this extensive scheme, we can look back proudly at the transformation. Our work will be complemented by the next phase in the regeneration of this estate, which will be led by the City of Wolverhampton Council and involve the construction of over 200 new family homes on brownfield sites within the estate.”
- The award follows hot on the heels of our Fire Safety team, which triumphed in the inaugural Fire Safety Resilience Awards in the Outstanding Team category.
The award is testament to the first-class work the team carries out every day to ensure all our customers and their homes are safe.
Judges praised Wolverhampton Homes’ Fire Safety team for being an excellent example of the risk assessment process being used to improve safety, particularly for the most vulnerable.
They highlighted how the team manages fire safety in a challenging environment and praised its person-centred approach. As a safety-first team, it has contributed to developing new practices to comply with legislation, including efficient IT solutions.
The team has also built strong collaborative relationships, particularly with tenancy officers to support vulnerable residents, and have produced more than 120 person-centred assessments while developing in-house fire marshal training.
