G6 ‘Pay as you go’ Pre-payment Metering

From the 1st of April 2017, residents served by the above district and communal heating schemes changed the way that they pay for their heat and hot water – this is due to the introduction of Government legislation called the ‘Heat Network Regulations 2014’.

The weekly heating ‘consumption’ charge contained within rents has been removed and a G6 pre-payment meter (PPM) has been installed as part of the heating upgrade work so residents only pay for the heat and hot water they use. We strongly recommend that the money no longer charged as part of your rent is set aside to pay for your heat and hot water.

Before the 1st of April 2017 residents were provided with:

  • A G6 PPM user guide and demonstration of the system
  • A pre-payment card and confirm their preferred payment method
  • Confirmation of the charges applicable (tariff and standing charge)
