LEAP is our Learning, Employment and Achievement Programme. It offers a boost to your skills plus real work experience. It is open to our tenants and their immediate family who live with them, plus leaseholders who live in the purchased property - aged over 30.
Joining LEAP will give you:
Confidence building, CV writing, taking part in interviews, using the internet and emails, literacy and numeracy. This training is run by our partners and is in an informal setting.
Eight week unpaid work experience programme:
Unpaid work experience placements will be offered in office administration, customer services, estates and concierge services and construction skills.
We are committed to providing a genuine training opportunity. We will offer all placements training in customer services, health and safety, money smart advice as well as on-the job training.
Candidates who successfully complete a work experience programme will be given:
- a reference
- training certificates
- any personal safety equipment that you have been issued with.
Who can join LEAP?
We are looking for candidates who are committed, enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy. All unpaid placements will be for 8 weeks, preferred hours are 30 per week over 4 days, however consideration will be given to part time hours. The Job Centre Plus will need to give permission for you to join the work experience programme.
Please note: The minimum qualification for the eight week work experience placement is a Level 1 (GSCE grade D) in Literacy and Numeracy. If you don't have those qualifications, we can support you to achieve them through the pre-employment programme.
We will give preference to unemployed candidates but we will also consider you if you're in part time or temporary work.
