Apprentices 2023 Website

Wolverhampton Homes has welcomed a new cohort of apprentices following their recent recruitment drive. The apprentices will be undertaking both office and trade apprenticeships of between two and four years, dependent on their chosen path.

On Monday 04 September 2023, as part of their induction, the apprentices were formally welcomed at a ceremony attended by Wolverhampton Homes’ Senior Management team.

Callum, aged 16 who is completing a two-year Health and Safety apprenticeship said:

“I am excited for what the future holds. It was fantastic getting to meet my apprentice cohort and learn more about Wolverhampton Homes and their vision for the future.

“My team seem very supportive already, and I can’t wait to develop my skills and have a long career with Wolverhampton Homes.”

The office apprentices will be gaining first-hand experience within the company’s Homes and Communities and Corporate Services directorates, developing skills in customer service and business administration.

The trade apprentices will be working alongside Wolverhampton Homes’ Property Services teams and strategic construction partners, gaining hands on experience working in tenants’ homes and on construction sites where they will develop technical skills vital to the industry.

Alongside this, all apprentices will attend college, where they will complete accredited qualifications relevant to their chosen specialism.

This recruitment complements the previous year’s cohort of both apprentices and management trainees.

Shaun Aldis, Chief Executive of Wolverhampton Homes said:

“Fostering talent is at the core of our mission to help people get on in life. Our apprenticeship scheme has successfully paved the way for many to secure permanent roles in their chosen fields, enriching our team with outstanding colleagues.

"The fresh perspectives and enthusiasm apprentices bring contribute significantly to our organisation's ability to consistently provide customer-focused services. We take immense pride in nurturing their growth, and I have every confidence that these new apprentices will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Wolverhampton Homes and the communities we serve."

Wolverhampton Homes has also been shortlisted for two apprenticeship awards, the Express and Star Apprentice Awards and the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. With their second year Plumbing and Gas Apprentice, Ravel Wallace, already recognised as a rising star in the organisation.
