On Saturday 10 June 2023, Wolverhampton Pride returned to the city of Wolverhampton. Over 5,000 people came together to celebrate and support the LGBT+ community with a parade, community stalls and music acts at Old Market Square.

Wolverhampton Homes are proud sponsors of the occasion as part of the Rainbow City partnership. They joined the celebration with a ‘proud to be me’ themed parade and community stall, with over 30 staff flying the flag for equity and inclusion.

On the community stall, over 100 residents took part in the ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition, with resident Jason winning the £25 high street voucher. On the stand there were also a ‘proud to be me’ selfie frame, support leaflets on money and energy, as well as giveaways such as sweets, stickers, pens, and bottles.

Shaun Aldis, Chief Executive of Wolverhampton Homes said:

“There was an incredible atmosphere at Wolves Pride, I was so proud to see the city unite with over 5,000 people lining the streets to celebrate the LGBT+ community.

“At Wolverhampton Homes, equity, diversity, and inclusion is embedded in everything we do. We know our people perform better when they can be themselves, and in turn, they are better prepared to support our diverse customers.

“We have been proud supporters of Wolves Pride since it began in 2012. It’s fantastic to see the event get bigger and better each year which reflects the strength of the city and its partners. We are looking forward to what 2024 holds and to back the Rainbow City partnership once again.”
